Danielle Young, Bachelor of Canine Studies, is currently Service Dog Training Coordinator & Client Liaison, placing service dogs with veterans. Learn about her time at Bergin.
My favorite thing about Bergin was being surrounded by students and staff that had the same passion for dogs as I did, and collaborating with them to learn everything I possibly could about dogs."
My job has quite a few different areas involved with it. I work with puppy parents; teaching private and group classes in which they learn dog training and handling, as well as how to resolve behavior issues. I interact with any interested veterans who would like a service dog, and assist them in the process, from applying to placement. I am involved in the matching, placement, and training process of our service dogs with veterans; including team training and any follow up needs they may have. Whelping, puppy care, and early puppyhood training is also a part of my job. My favorite thing about my job is that I am involved in every aspect of the dog’s life from birth through placement so I get to see the transformation of each dog and the numerous lives they change through the process of training, and ultimately filling their veteran's life with hope and love.
My favorite thing about Bergin was being surrounded by students and staff that had the same passion for dogs as I did, and collaborating with them to learn everything I possibly could about dogs, dog training, disabilities, etc.
